Eurocolumbus, its’ headquarters located in Milan, Italy. Eurocolumbus works in radiological field since 1972 and it was the first company in the world to interface a VARIAN Flat Panel Detector on a mobile C arm (year 2004). Its C-arms are motorized and have been equipped with full isocentric geometry since 2001. The first company in the world starting the production of a mobile C-arm with image acquisition through a dynamic flat panel of amorphous silicon in 2005. Today the products have evolved with innovative features, providing a perfect ergonomics with unprecedented image quality.
The Alien E unit is a MOBILE type of INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY EQUIPMENT. It must be used only by specialized medical personnel, authorized for the use of radiology devices according to the local current laws, and the internal regulations of the company detaining the EQUIPMENT. The responsibility as defined above is fully of the company owning the equipment (e.g. hospital, clinic, etc.).
The Alien E unit can be used for FLUOROSCOPY, FLUOROGRAPHY and DIRECT GRAPHY exams (please refer to the previous paragraph for the descriptions of these terms).
The normal use of the Alien E series, for its unique characteristics, is intended for continuous operation (60601-1 standard, third edition – par. 7.2.11). However, the normal use of Alien E, like all devices of this type, involves alternate phases of standby and active phases (in this case, X-ray emission).
Do not use the Alien E unit in presence of inflammable anaesthetics.
The latest version of C arm introduced in the market in January 2019 the system designed to have a working capacity similar to an angiographic device or for stationary hemodynamics therefore it will no block due to high temperature of the X-ray unit or other components. The movement of the C are motorized and manual.
